The Kestrel 3000 Portable Anemometer is a highly accurate, durable, small instrument that uses a high-precision, ultra-lightweight jewel bearing impeller to measure wind speed with low starting wind speeds. The impeller is placed on a tempered glass plastic bracket, which is simple to install and easy to replace. The instrument is small enough to fit in your pocket and has an LCD display, allowing measurements to be taken almost anywhere. Three measurement modes can be selected: wind speed, average wind speed, and maximum wind speed. It can switch measurement units at any time: knots, meters per second, kilometers per hour, meters per hour, or feet per minute.
